Oppi value: low impact having a big impact
All our fabrics are thoughtfully sourced. Most at 100% cotton. All are either organic, fairtrade or upcycled.
We care about sustainability, and wellbeing.
Low impact having a big impact
We only use materials that are kind to people and the environment, for today, and for tomorrow. Most Oppi products are 100% cotton. When we find beautiful wool or responsibly produced bamboo fabrics, we use these too. But we will only use natural fibres, because we believe they’re better next to babies skin. They breathe. They wick. They naturally cool and insulate.
The fabric we use:
- Certified GOTS Organic fabrics
- Certified Fairtrade & fairly-traded fabrics
- High quality, upcycled fabric
We use Certified GOTS Organic Fabrics
We care about the people who produce the fabric we use, and we care about what sits close to baby’s skin. That’s why we choose to use organic fabrics whenever possible.
GOTS certification is recognised worldwide. It defines high-level environmental criteria throughout the organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria.
We use certified Fairtrade & fairly-traded fabrics
Many of the fabrics we use hold the Fairtrade certification. The certification empowers small-scale producers in developing countries to receive fair prices to cover sustainable production. This makes social, economic and environmental sense.
We also use fabrics that we know have been fairly-traded. Our supplier in North Wales works directly with producers in developing countries. They are a small family-run business who use their profits to help the weavers and their families.
We like their values.
We use high quality, upcycled fabric
Sometimes we come across beautiful natural fabrics no longer enjoyed by their first owner. If the fabric is perfectly clean, the weave passes our quality checks, and the design inspires us, we see no reason why we shouldn’t upcycle it to make something beautiful.
